The Hunterdon Health Auxiliary exists for charitable and educational purposes. Through fundraising and educational events, the Hunterdon Health Auxiliary promotes the health and welfare of the Hunterdon Health community.
We are a volunteer organization originally formed in 1953. Together with the Hunterdon Health Foundation we work to make meaningful contributions to Hunterdon Health. We have succeeded in helping to fund numerous programs and technological needs within the healthcare system through our various fund-raising events.
Sapphires & Sequins is the Auxiliary’s signature event. It is a “Girls’ Night Out” encompassing a VIP experience, shopping, live auction, raffles, fashion show, fine food and drinks. Each year, the beneficiaries will be determined by a vote of Auxiliary membership, with input on current need from the Hunterdon Health Foundation.
Sponsorship and Registration Information can be found here.
Each Spring and Fall, the Auxiliary and the Foundation invite the community to attend a complimentary meal and informative session. This helps to promote a connection between community members and the healthcare system, while presenting the opportunity to become an Auxiliary member.
This event has been ongoing since 1986, and focuses on the light within each of us by acknowledging the light in others. This year-long event supplies the Auxiliary with funds which are utilized within the healthcare system as the need arises. Each year on the first Wednesday in December, Lights of Love celebrates donations made throughout the year that honor or memorialize people who have touched our lives in a special way. The Auxiliary also recognizes both the Hospital and Community Annual Lights of Love Awards Recipients during the ceremony.
Event, Annual Award Criteria and Nominations, and Donation information can be found here.
Held on the second Wednesday in December, Auxiliary and community members bake holiday-themed cookies and treats to be sold, with proceeds benefiting Briteside Adult Day Center.
There are many roles for Auxiliary volunteers including support of events, administration, and community outreach. The Auxiliary holds general membership meetings throughout the year that are held both in person and via zoom. Much of the Auxiliary's event planning is conducted through committees where you can focus on your particular interests and talents. Please contact the Foundation to learn more about volunteering opportunities.
