She joined the US Air Force where she was a member of the Family Medicine Faculty for the residency program at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews AFB. Additionally, she was an Associate Professor for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) where she taught classes in Medical Ethics.
In 2006, she returned to Hunterdon County and joined the residency program here at the medical center, and is currently one of the Core Faculty.
Dr. Kolpan’s special areas of interest include curriculum development for residency education, and she is responsible for scheduling our current weekly academic day. Dr. Kolpan enjoys women’s health and dermatology and was instrumental in establishing our procedure clinics in both these areas to provide residents with more opportunities for hands-on learning. She has also developed a strong interest in integrative medicine, firmly believing in whole-person health. Dr. Kolpan runs group medical visits for participants with chronic medical conditions and enjoys including residents in the group.
Laurie’s husband Brett, also a family medicine physician and HMC graduate, is the medical director at Hunterdon Family Medicine at Riverfield in Clinton NJ. They have two children and enjoy family time, particularly when it is spent at Disney. She enjoys cooking, walking/hiking, and traveling.
