Dexter entered medical school with the intention of becoming a family physician. He hoped to become a primary care physician to develop lasting relationships with his patients that would help them engage with preventive care and navigate the complex healthcare system. His passion for the field was cemented throughout medical school and his work in the outpatient setting, where he witnessed the breadth and continuity of care that could be provided through family medicine. He is particularly interested in working with underserved communities, improving health literacy, public health policy, and addiction medicine. In his free time, Dexter enjoys attending concerts and performances, practicing Spanish, keeping physically active, and spending time with family and friends.
